How do you blend rainbow colors smoothly?

Smooth blending between rainbow bands comes from overlapping the edges before the color sets. With colored pencils, press firmly at the center of each band and lighter at the edges where you want colors to blend, this gradual pressure creates a natural fade. With markers, the trick is speed: work slightly into the adjacent color while the ink is still wet so they bleed together naturally. With watercolor pencils (my personal recommendation for rainbow pages), you can lay down the dry colors first, then go over the edges with a damp brush and let the colors melt into each other. It's genuinely beautiful and much easier than it sounds.
